OBITUARY: Jimmy Ray Edwards

Mr. Jimmy Ray Edwards age 73, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

Jimmy was born in Flintville, Tennessee, on May 29, 1945, the son of the late Surcey Edwards and Hazel Sharp Edwards. He served in the Tennessee Air National Guard. Mr. Edwards worked many years at Kirkpatrick Lumber as well as a founding partner of Nashville Lumber Company. Jimmy was a true friend to all those that knew him. He will be remembered most for the great love that he had for his family and always putting others first. He was a man that stayed true to his roots. Jimmy Edwards was an avid fisherman and loved anything outdoors. Jimmy made many trips to the Gulf of Mexico with family and friends. He always enjoyed a trip to the docks where he would watch the boats arrive after eating gumbo at the Boat House. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Edwards.

Survivors include the love of his life for 51 years, Karen Edwards; two sons, Wes (Melenna) and Brad (Shawna) Edwards; five grandchildren, Autumn Edwards, Addie Edwards, Keely Edwards, Emme Edwards, and William Edwards; sisters, Betty Coats and Janie Bradley; and a brother, Rayford Edwards.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Bobby Fentress and Jeremy Heflin presiding. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and Tuesday from noon until the funeral hour.

The following have been asked to serve as active pallbearers and are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday: Michael Bess, Autumn Edwards, Addie Edwards, Roger Sanders, Edd Terry, Chris Bailey, Jared Bradley, and Christian White.
