James Fount Denning, age 85, of Gallatin, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, from the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue). Visitation will be noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment will follow the service at Fairfield Cemetery.
Mr. Denning was born April 2, 1932, in Westmoreland, to the late Fount Charles Denning and Mary Glenn Butt Denning. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Floyd Denning; sister-in- law, Margaret Denning; sisters, Kathryn Lavona Roberts and Alma Ree Crafton; and brothers,-in- law, Bill Roberts and Talmadge Crafton. He is survived by wife of over 59 years, Virginia Garrison Denning of Gallatin; son, Michael Denning of Gallatin; brothers, Noah Dennis Denning (June) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Granville Denning of Westmoreland; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Denning retired from the Sumner County Highway Department after 30 years of service.
