Carol Bass, age 85 of Gallatin, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Dallas Frazier officiating. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m.
Saturday, January 12, th and 12 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 13. Interment will follow the service at Gallatin Cemetery, with Randy Jones, Jared Glascock, Brantley Carmouche, Brian Diggs, Hunter Evans, and Kesley Isenberg serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Bass was born February 2, 1933, in Tifton, Georgia, to the late William Granville Brantley and Lula Mae Dixon Brantley. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy D. Bass; daughter, Jane Burton; grandson, Ashley Gray; and sister, Nadine Bennett. She is survived by daughters, Tracy Shafer (Whitey) of Ridgetop, Joy Schmidt (Fred) of Frankfort, Brenda Gray of Oak Grove, and Rebecca Perkins of White House; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She worked in the entertainment industry as a singer/songwriter and sang at the Grand Ole Opry on many occasions. She also sang with Jim and Jesse and the Virginia Boys.
