Bobby Lee Burton, age 81 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018.
Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 8, in the chapel of Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home, 100 Albert Gallatin Avenue, with Bro. Danny Spano officiating. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday, October 7, and from 12 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 8. Interment will follow, with Military Honors, at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Matthew Burton, Michael Burton, John Bentancourt, James Burton, Jerry Scruggs, and Jimmy Baker serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Burton, Ron Eatmon, and Bill Daughtry.
Mr. Burton was born April 29, 1937, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Ruford Howard Burton and Corine Sircy Burton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Peggy Ann Hunter Burton; brother, Hoyt Burton; and sister, Dorothy “Dot” Reece. He is survived by son, David Burton (Marianne) of Gallatin; and 2 grandchildren, Matthew Burton and Michael Burton (Abby).
Mr. Burton served his country in the United States Army and later the National Guard; he retired from G.F. Office Furniture after almost 30 years of service.
