George Herbert Williams, age 89, of Bush’s Chapel community, passed away on Feb. 10, 2018.
George retired from DuPont after 40 years of service. He was a member of Fountain Head Church of Christ.
He was born on Nov. 2, 1928, to the late George Gilmore and Evie Tribble Williams in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Carrie Nell Williams (wife), Nancy
Williams (infant daughter), Glenda Williams (daughter-in- law), and siblings, Margaret Oaks and Allen Williams. He is survived by sister, Maye Lankford; sons, Don Williams of Chester, Virginia, Dr. Dan (Gina)
Williams of Franklin, Tennessee, and Max (Donna) Williams of Cottontown, Tennessee;
grandchildren, Carrie Williams, Dr. Daniel (Lindsay) Williams, Michael (Courtney) Williams, Ashley (Christopher) Wiles, Allison Williams, and Emily Williams; great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Ethan, Micah and Clara Wiles; Eden and Hannah Williams; and Archie McDonald.
Pallbearers are Dr. Daniel Williams, Michael Williams, John Williams, Randy Williams, Dale Oaks, and Christopher Wiles. Honorary pallbearers are Gabriel Wiles and Ethan Wiles. Visitation will be held at Alexander Family Heritage Funeral Home in Gallatin (100 Albert Gallatin Avenue) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, and from 9 a.m. to service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, with Bro. Matt Miller and Dr. Dan Williams officiating the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Potter Children’s Home in
Bowling Green, Kentucky.
