"Serial Shoplifter" arrested after walking out of store with five large-screen televisions

A Madison man is facing felony charges after being accused of stealing five large-screen televisions during three separate visits to the Hendersonville Walmart.

On February 11, 2019, a white male entered Walmart in Hendersonville and selected a large screen television. The suspect exited the store, failing to pay for the merchandise. The suspect was then seen leaving in a dark colored SUV.

On February 14, 2019, the same person entered Walmart in Hendersonville and selected two additional large screen televisions and then exited the store without paying.

On February 20, 2019 the same white male suspect entered Hendersonville Walmart a third time and stole two additional large screen televisions. A Hendersonville Detective was able to identify, locate, and arrest a suspect the same day.

The accused serial shoplifter has been identified as Timothy “Tim” Cox, 28, of Madison, Tennessee. Cox is being held in the Sumner County Jail charged with felony
theft over $1,000 and is scheduled to appear in Sumner County General Sessions Court on March 27, 2019 at 9 a.m. The bond amount for Mr. Cox is not known at this time.

Hendersonville Police say that it is likely Cox is responsible for additional shoplifting incidents in the area. They asked that anyone with information on this case or other possible related cases please call and report that information to Hendersonville Police at 615-822-1111 or the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-573-5400.
