Police charge woman with setting multiple fires that destroyed her fiance’s home

On Monday June 10, 2019 Hendersonville Police Detectives located and arrested Tiffany Hummel, 48, of Hendersonville in Smyrna, Tennessee.

Hummel was arrested as a result of a nearly two-month investigation by Hendersonville Police and Hendersonville Fire Department into five fires at a home in the 300 block of North Birchwood Drive that occurred on April 16 and 17, 2019.

The fifth fire that occurred on April 17 resulted in severe damage which destroyed the home and its contents.

According to police, the investigation into these fires revealed that they were a result of arson committed by Tiffany Hummel, the fiancé of the renter of the home. The investigation also revealed that Hummel stole property belonging to her fiancé from the home prior to setting the fires.

Tiffany Hummel has been charged with five counts of Arson and one count of Theft over $2,500 in connection with these incidents. Hummel is scheduled to appear in Sumner County
General Sessions Court on July 10, 2019 at 9 a.m.
