Man who won $3 million at Goodlettsville Mapco says he won’t quit working

TENNESSEE EDUCATION LOTTERY

A man who won $3 million playing the Tennessee Lottery’s “Mighty Jumbo Bucks” instant game at a Mapco store on Long Hollow Pike says he has no plans to quit working.

He did take yesterday off to claim his prize, but told a customer he would be back to work the next day.

“This puts me way ahead, but I’ve been working all my life, and I’m not going to stop now,” said Greg Muller of Nashville, who owns a garage-door repair business.

Muller won the mega-prize after purchasing the lucky ticket in Goodlettsville at Mapco, 301 Long Hollow Pike. Both he and the retailer did a double-take after seeing a three and more than a couple zeros. However, Muller says he kept the exact amount of zeros secret until he visited the Lottery’s headquarters. After confirming the amount, he called the retailer and shared the good news.

Lottery President and CEO Rebecca Hargrove presented Muller with a symbolic big check and asked him what he did after learning how much he had won.

“I knew I had to take that ticket and run to the Lottery!” he said. He also told Hargrove he plans to put his winnings in the bank, take care of his kids and “maybe travel to Mexico.”
