Hendersonville Police warn of phone scam impersonating police

Hendersonville Police Department has received multiple reports of a phone scam where the caller claims to be from Hendersonville Police and tells the victim that they have to pay money using reloadable gift cards to satisfy a warrant the victim has as a result of missing jury duty.

Hendersonville Police would like to remind the public that police will never call you soliciting money to satisfy a warrant or to ask for you to make any kind of payment for missing jury duty or a court appearance. Any call from someone claiming to be from the police department and asking you to go to the store and purchase gift cards to make a payment is a scam.

Police would ask that anyone who has been a victim or who has additional information on this case please call and report that information to Hendersonville Police at 615-264-5303 or the Hendersonville Crime Stoppers at 615-573-5400. Tips may also be submitted anonymously by text to the number 274637 (crimes) using keyword TIPHPD.
