Rucker signs with Tennessee

JPII Athletic Signing Assembly Thursday, November 9th – 11:25am Jake Rucker – University of Tennessee – Baseball Jake Rucker is a very talented, hard working baseball player. University of Tennessee Head Baseball Coach Tony Vitello noticed this as soon as he accepted the job to lead the Volunteers last summer. Jake was the first player he got to commit to wear Orange on the Hill while seeing Jake play for Team Tennessee in the National Sunbelt Classic Tournament in McAlester, OK. Jake is a very key member of Coach Vitello’s first ever signing class. Rucker is a great teammate and very versatile baseball player. He will do whatever it takes for his team to succeed. Along with pitching, Jake played second base his sophomore year, third base his junior year, and this year his Senior year he projects as being the teams short stop and closer. When not playing baseball Jake helps the youth of our community in baseball camps and is very active in his church. This, along with his play, shows great signs of leadership. If the JPII Knights are to continue the success they have had in the past few years on the diamond, I’m quite sure Jake Rucker will have lots to do with it.
