White House Cheer team finishes 10th Nationally


The White House Blue Devils cheer team made history over the weekend in Atlanta, GA. The squad finished 10th in the nation at the Cheersport Cheerleading National Championships in the Level 3 Senior Small Division B.

The Blue Devils competed against of the best team and all-star and select squads in the nation in the three-day competition.

The White House Cheer Squad is coached by Dawn Walters and Jessica Biggs. After the impressive showing this weekend, Biggs says she is very proud of her squad.

“This team has done an exceptional job overcoming challenges and injuries,” Biggs said. “On day two they had zero deductions and hit everything, this was a great experience for the team.”

The squad will lose six seniors to as Livia Rogers, Brooke Turzinski, Amaya Payne, Taylor Walters, McKenna Kraemer, and Carley Kell will graduate. The rest of the team includes Junior Madison McMahon, and Sophomores Kirsten Herell, Shalyn Sears, Emma Cutrell, and Brooke Cole. The team had for freshmen including Ava Anderson, Josie Biggs, Madisyn Prestenbach, and Maddie Parchman.

“Coach Dawn and I are beyond proud of their performance this weekend,” Biggs added. “We couldn’t have asked for a better ending to a great year.”
