With meteorologists forecasting a foot of snow in some cities on the East Coast, only wind increases are likely to be felt in Middle Tennessee.

“That storm is really not going to affect us at all,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Sam Shamburger, who is based in Nashville. “We’re just going to stay cold and dry.”

But tonight, winds will start to increase, a side effect of the cold front coming around back of the storm system hitting the east.

Shamburger said temperatures will decrease again Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday, before rising.

Beginning Sunday, he said, the area will likely experience some rain coming from the west.

“It’s going to warm up quite a bit Sunday and Monday,” he said, into the 50s, before temperatures decrease again Monday night.
