White House Lady Devils Senior forward Madeline Hargrove inked on the dotted line Monday, signing to play soccer at Midway University in Kentucky.
Hargrove scored 21 goals and added eight assists in her senior campaign that was capped off by winning the class AA State Soccer Championship in Murfreesboro.
Going out a winner was like a dream come true according to Hargrove.
“We’ve wanted to win it, since I was a freshman,” Hargrove said. “Winning it our senior year was the best because we went out on top.”
In the Fall, Madeline started to think about what the future holds for her academically and where to continue to play soccer.
“I started talking to them back in September and in October I got to tour the school and met the coaches and that’s when I really considered going to school there,” Hargrove added. “I’m thankful for the opportunity and look forward to playing at Midway.”
Midway plays in the Mid South Conference of the NAIA. The Eagles finished 2017 with a 7-7-1 record and 2-6-1 in conference play.
Hargrove says she owes a lot of her success to her coaches Mike Felzien and Shawn Showalter.
“They wanted us to be the best that we can,” Hargrove said. “They were always pushing us to do more.”
She was a member of the 9-AA All-District team two years in a row and named to the THSSCA All-Star game.
Madeline is the daughter of David and Daphne Hargrove and plans to major in nursing at Midway.
