A section of Gallatin’s Airport Road will be closed for construction Saturday, Sept. 16 and Sunday, Sept. 17.
TDOT will block off the road in front of Packing Corporation of America (PCA). While it is closed, they will replace drainage culverts as part of their Airport Road State Industrial Access project.
The TDOT project is intended to provide “funding and technical assistance for highway access to new and expanding industries across the state.”
A map of suggest detour routes is pictured above.
City officials said another road closure will be required later this fall “in the area southwest of the Sumner County Regional Airport near the old RR Donnelley facility.”
The dates of that closure will be released when they are confirmed.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” city officials said. “The widening and realignment of Airport Road is a significant benefit, but has the expected short-term inconvenience.”
