Christmas, New Year trash schedule changes for Hendersonville, Gallatin and Portland

The upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays will affect trash collection in several of Sumner County’s cities.

Hendersonville, Gallatin and Portland collection will run on the following days:

Hendersonville

Monday and Thursday trash collection will be moved to Tuesday and Friday during the weeks of both Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Tuesday and Friday trash collection will be moved to Wednesday and Saturday both weeks as well.

City Hall will be closed Monday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Dec. 26 for Christmas and Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

Gallatin

All trash schedules will run one day late the weeks of both Christmas and New Year’s Day. There will be no Friday bulk pick-up on Dec. 22, Dec. 29 or Jan. 5.

City Hall will be closed for Christmas Eve on Friday, Dec. 22, Christmas on Monday, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day on Monday, Jan. 1.

Portland

There will be no trash pick-up on Monday, Dec. 25, Tuesday, Dec, 26 or Monday, Jan. 1.

During week of Christmas, Monday and Tuesday routes will resume Wednesday, Dec. 27. Tuesday and Wednesday routes will resume Wednesday, Dec. 28, and Thursday and Friday routes will resume Friday, Dec. 29.

During the week of New Year’s Day, Monday and Tuesday routes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 2. All other routes will run as scheduled.
