17-year-old fleeing from police crashes into two cars, flees

A 17-year-old from Hendersonville led police on a car chase that resulted in collisions with two cars, and a foot chase that led to his capture.

Just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, a Hendersonville Police officer attempted to stop a vehicle after a traffic infraction on Anderson Lane near East Main Street. The vehicle initially stopped but then fled from police eastbound on East Main Street. The driver then crashed into two other vehicles and ultimately got out of his car with a firearm and fled from police on foot.

The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male juvenile from Hendersonville, was captured and arrested after a foot pursuit. This juvenile has been charged through the Sumner County Juvenile Court with:

  • Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer
  • Unlawful Possession of A Firearm
  • Reckless Endangerment (two counts)
  • Evading by Motor Vehicle
  • Resisting Stop, Halt, Frisk
  • Driving on a Suspended License
  • Reckless Driving
  • Speeding
