The opening day of the Gallatin Farmers market is set for Saturday April 14.
Several new family friendly events have been added this year.
The market will be open every Saturday until October with fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat from local farmers. There will be artisan vendors set-up as well. The market will be open each week from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“We shifted the hours this year based on the availability of our farmers,” Gallatin Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Kim Baker said. “We’ve also added a Saturday story time for children at 10 a.m.”
According to Baker all books at story time will be related to farming, gardening, and healthy lifestyles.
“Each week there will a guest reader to read to the kids,” Baker said.
Also new this year, they will be hosting a fourth Friday movie at the market. The movies will begin around dusk, about 7:30 p.m.
The first movie that will be shown is “A Bug’s Life” which will be presented by U.S. Pest on May 25.
Food trucks will also be on hand as Auntee Teeny’s will be serving breakfast and Southern Bites will be serving their swanky Southern favorites.
